Wednesday Night Out

Joining a small group is a great way to make a deeper connection to the church and to God. Madison offers a wealth of group ministries to serve the congregation’s spiritual, emotional and practical needs.

A small group is a group of three to 12 people who meet for a season or to serve a particular purpose. To serve as a small group leader, you must undergo five weeks of Small Group Leader Training.

Care Groups

A Care Group is a group of eight to 10 people with a leader or co-leaders that meets regularly for Bible study, prayer, discussion and meals. Members of care groups look out for each other and develop meaningful connections; many of these groups meet for years.

Other Groups
There are smaller small groups (“micro-groups”) that meet for an agreed-upon period of time (three weeks? six months?) to study together and organic groups that meet more casually to discuss, pray, study or just hang out together.

Please Note: Many of our groups are currently full. For help in forming a new group, contact Susie Dixon.

Spiritual Formation Groups

A Spiritual Formation Group is a micro-group that meets weekly for four months to learn the process of spiritual and emotional healing and to access God’s power for healing their emotional wounds. Participants focus on issues of  true and false identity and begin the journey of living in freedom and wholeness.

Small Group Leader Training

Do you have gifts of leadership and hospitality? Madison can equip you to organize and lead a small group (three to 12 people) as a true, caring faith community. Training lasts five weeks and covers relationships, community, communication, conflict, prayer and soul care. Upcoming small group leader training dates will appear in the bulletin.

The mission of Madison’s Prayer Ministry is to pray for all of Madison—the congregation, leadership, ministries and visitors— and to encourage and develop prayer among the members.

Prayer Servants

There are many ways to serve by praying at Madison. Prayer Servants pray after worship services, at special events, and at the healing services held on the third Sunday evening services of each month. They pray throughout the church in preparation for Sunday morning worship. They pray throughout the neighborhood with the Neighborhood Friends. They pray for people at Soul Food Sunday and other Madison events.

Prayer Chain
Nearly 100 Madison intercessors receive Prayer Chain e-mails to pray for congregational requests. This is a powerful way to serve behind the scenes and make a difference in fellow church members lives.
