  • Non-church: An approved nonprofit, educational, or faith-based organization; a non-church-related event or function, typically for personal or group use such as an open-house, party, or such.

II. Accountability:

The renting or associate ministry party is responsible for the conduct of all persons attending their event, and misconduct or damage to church property may result in loss of deposits and/or use privileges for future events. A representative from the renting party or associate ministry must meet with Madison Square Church's Facility Manager or Director of Outreach to agree upon conditions of use and areas needed, read and agree upon the church Property Use Policy, and sign for use.

Saturday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., no exceptions
Sunday: 1:30- 4 p.m., no exceptions

Madison Square Church Ministries and activities have priority of use in all areas at all times. The times agreed upon must include setup, takedown, and cleanup of events. All scheduled events must end, personal property be removed, and the building vacated by the time the church is secured.

IV. Available services:

  • Sound System: In Sanctuary or Multi-purpose room and includes microphones, CD players, or instrument amplification; a Madison technician is required.
  • Video Projection: In Sanctuary or Multi-Purpose room, a Madison technician is required.
  • Room Setup or Takedown: Performed by Madison Building Services unless other arrangements have been made. Equipment, furniture, or fixtures may not be moved without supervision or written permission from Madison staff.
  • Kitchen: On-site food preparation by cooking requires that a Madison Square Church-trained PIC (Person In Charge) is present in the kitchen to supervise and maintain standards complying with Kent County Health Department codes and licensing requirements. Use of the kitchen for temporary storage or preparation for serving of catered or food prepared off-site will not require a PIC. See kitchen use policy for specific details.
  • Van: Use is restricted to Church events only and drivers must be approved by the church in all instances. See van use policy for specific details.

V. Restrictions:

  • ONLY those rooms or areas agreed upon in the Room Request Form are available to ministries or non-church uses. All other areas are considered closed to use.
  • NO RED, ORANGE, OR GRAPE PUNCH, JUICE, OR SODA IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILIDING. Damages resulting from use of these will be deducted in part or whole from deposit(s). Approved beverages are any clear juice or soda such as lemonade, apple juice, or citrus-type sodas.
  • NO nails, duct tape, or clear tape may be used on any surfaces in the building, including glass. Approved methods are masking tape for attaching banners, signs, and such, and these must be removed before building is vacated at the end of an event.
  • NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON CHURCH PROPERTY, POSSESSION OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY ATTENDEES OF AN EVENT WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF ALL DEPOSITS AND ANY FUTURE USE OF BUILDING.
  • NO SMOKING is allowed on church property. Ministry Leader or signer of use application will be responsible for enforcement of this restriction.
  • Entrance doors may not be propped open unless a Madison staff member is present and approves this. If an entry door is locked it must be supervised by an attendee of the event to allow access.

The renting party shall save and hold harmless Madison Square Church from any and all liabilities and/or responsibilities arising incidental to the occupancy of the church and its related area and/or adjacent parking areas, and not responsible for theft or loss.

I have read and accept these conditions of use, and understand that reserving room(s) at Madison Square Church may not guarantee availability of all services requested if staff cannot be provided or due to extenuating circumstances, although the church will make every reasonable effort to meet these needs.
