Pastor Dave Beelen, Lead Pastor![]() As Christ's undershepherd of the church, I am accountable to the Elders for the spiritual life of Madison Square. I preach about 60% of the Sunday sermons, lead our Preaching Team, and supervise three Staff members. I am grateful for the opportunity to care for our congregants by taking part in professions of faith, baptisms, funerals and weddings. I am passionate about our Vision: To build a community of diverse people who are being transformed by Christ. Christy Carlin: Director of Student Ministry![]() As the Director of Student Ministry I am priveleged to oversee both our Middle and High School Ministries. I also supervise our Leaders In Training (LIT) Program, which prepares students for leadership and service in the church and world. Inspiring and equipping adults to invest deeply in the lives of students in grades 7-12 is my passion. I love to be a bridge builder by connecting students to each other, their mentors, church, community, and world. Laura Carpenter: Director of Diversity and Worship As Director of Diversity and Worship I oversee the work of the AntiRacism team. The diversity side of my job is to lead us toward the vision of "building a community of diverse people" and we do that by celebrating our diversity, building racially reconciling relationships, and working together to understand and dismantle institutional racism. On the worship side, I work to keep our worship leaders and teams connected and striving for excellence.
Anthony Dickerson, Executive Director of Ministry![]() As the Executive Director of Ministry, I oversee the daily operation of the church and supervise Staff members. I report directly to Pastor Dave and implement most of the church ministry strategies. I am the church liaison for the Deacons, Missions Team, and Christian Education support team. Syd Harvey: Director of Outreach![]() As Director of Outreach, my role is to be a link within and outside of the church. Some examples are in cooperation with the Deacons, leading ministries such as the Food Pantry and Thanksgiving Baskets, and overseeing ministries like the Jail Team and Mel Trotter Ministries. I also supervise the Building and Grounds Team and some Support Staff.
Willie Julius: Director of Congregational Life![]() As the Director of Congregational Life, I am accountable to provide leadership and vision for the Care Group ministry as well as Pastoral Care. I am also responsible to serve our families during baptisms and funerals. Overseeing the following ministries is also part of my position: College and Career, Blood Drives, Counseling Ministries, Meals for Moms, Men's Bible Study, Mothers of Preschoolers, Sports Ministries, and Women Growing in Grace. Brad Knetsch, Middle School Coordinator![]() As the Middle School Coordinator, it’s both a sheer blessing and my passion to serve 7th and 8th graders grow in their walk with Jesus. Jesus is everything to me, I believe His message is the hope of the world, and I love serving both youth leaders and students. Audrey Laninga: Director of Education![]() As the Director of Education and Worship Arts, I am accountable to cast a vision for Education. I also select, train, and direct a group of leaders who support this vision, while encouraging the spiritual growth of all who participate. As a co-leader of the Worship Design team, I lead a group who design worship services. The arts ministries which report to me are Dance, Drama, and Visual Arts (banners). Mark Nieboer: Property Manager![]() As Property Manager, I have oversight of the upkeep and improvement of the church's physical property. This includes supervision of paid custodial staff and a contracted cleaning service, soliciting bids for major repairs or service contracts, and scheduling routine maintenance and inspections. I also coach the Parking and Building and Grounds ministries, which are comprised of volunteers who use their gifts to serve the church as parking attendants, painters, landscapers, lawn care workers, and carpenters. Terri Rozema: Administrative Assistant![]() As an Administrative Assistant, I serve staff, congregants, and neighbors by providing them with information and/or direction. I create mailers, posters and spreadsheets, manage the database, and publish the bulletin and directory. With the use of computer applications and technology I work to support Madison Staff wherever possible. Lori Robbins: Office Coordinator![]() As Office Coordinator, I strive to keep the office running smoothly, from scheduling room assignments to answering questions from directors, congregants, or neighbors. I also assign the work requests that come from the Ministry Directors to the appropriate Support Staff. Purchasing supplies and food items as needed for the office and various ministries is another aspect of my position. Ken Schripsema: Director of Children's Ministries![]() As Director of Children's Ministries, it is my privilege to lead, equip, and serve our children's Evangelism Ministry Teams in reaching the children of our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. I also work with our Children's Education Ministry Teams to help parents with all the children God has entrusted to us - from infants through 6th grade - to grow into life-long followers of Jesus. Ken's Latest Project Paula Seales: Director of Volunteers![]() As the Director of Volunteers I equip volunteers for works of service at Madison Square Church. I am responsible for developing clear pathways for serving as well as spiritual gifts training. I also oversee the Prayer Ministry, Ushers, Greeters, Information Assistants, and a Hospitality Team. Bill Wiarda: Communications Manager![]() As Communications Manager I support other departments by helping them communicate their needs and events to our congregation through the website, newsletter, bulletin, and much of our Sunday morning technology including sound and video. Much of my work is behind the scenes, including coaching our Graphic Design Team, Duplicating Team, and Videography Team. Bill's Latest Project
Preaching TeamAlton Hardy![]() Being on the preaching team is no small thing in my eyes and having the opportunity to share God's word with His people is the greatest feeling in the world. I live life with a holy fear that I must give an account to God for the life with which I have been blessed. I also work at Restorers, a Christian community development organization in Madison's neighborhood, as the Economic Empowerment Program Director. Cisco Gonzalez![]() I am humbled to be participating in the Preaching Team, the "Four Part Harmony." God's call to shepherd and serve his people has been on my life since high school. The call has six interrelated interdependent parts: be a tangible Christ, preach his word, pray for God's people, teach and encourage God's people to apply His word in life, build loving Christian community, and equip God's people to go and make disciples. I also work at Kuyper College as the Director of Student Life. Joy Bonnema![]() I am so grateful and humbled to be a part of the Preaching Team and believe that God has called me here for such a time as this. I fervently desire your prayers as together we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am also an Associate Professor of Biology at Calvin College. |
